Shipyard Blocking and Wedges
The “blue” part here is the underside of a huge ship being built in a shipyard. This ship is being prepared for launching in a dry dock. The beige steel is the support cradle and the timber wedges are shaped and used to conform to the bottom of the ship. They are strapped down (black straps) so that when the ship is lowered into the water the blocks don’t float away after they are “released”.
