Tunnel Crossing Vancouver
Metro Vancouver is constructing a 21′ diameter tunnel under Burrard Inlet which will container 3 water mains. The tunnel will be 1.1 km long and will be 30 metres below the bottom of Burrard Inlet. The shaft is 60 metres deep on the North side and 110 metres deep on the South side. Industrial Timber Products has supplied many Crane Mats and Transition Mats for this project. The attached pictures show them deployed under a very large crawler crane which is lifting the main cutter into the shaft.
